MFS-51:Learn! Don't Dwell

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about learning from our mistakes instead of dwelling on them.  It’s inevitable that we will all do or say things that we realize we shouldn’t.  All to often when this occurs we dwell on what we said or did, how we reacted, or how we didn’t react.  By dwelling - we remain in the past!  Whether we dwell for hours, days or weeks, our peace is stolen and it can hold us back from moving forward. MSF-050: Get Off The Bench

Join us as we sit down and talk about “getting off the bench.”  Last week’s Superbowl sparked a conversation about the parallels that exist between sports and the church.  For one, the coach can’t win the game without the players and likewise, the players need the coach to prepare them. Each player works hard to be a part of the team, not so they can sit the bench, but so they can play!  As part of a church family, we need to get in the game!  It’s time for us to do what our Pastor has been training us for and GET OFF THE BENCH!

MFS-048: Invest In Your Kids

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about the importance of Investing in Your Kids! Sometimes you teach, sometimes you train, but you’re always investing! This episode stemmed for an extended dinner we had with the kids.  After a long day it’s easy to have a quick dinner and move on, but the other night, we finished dinner, and instead of excusing them from the table once they were done, we spent some time investing in our kids.  We worked with them and taught them skill they can carry with them the rest of their life.  This wasn’t the first time we worked on these skills and this definitely won’t be the last time but we are determined to continually invest in them.

MFS-047: Drifting

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about Drifting. When you least expect it, you can find yourself drifting in life. Slowing things can creep in and all the sudden you realize you have drifted far away from what’s important. Maybe you’ve drifted away from your family, your spouse, your church or even God. It can happen so slowly you don’t realize you’ve drifted off course. Before you know it, you’re miles from where you need to be. Seek Him first and don’t allow things of this world to distant you from God and cause you to drift!

MFS-046: What's Your Lifeline?

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and discuss the importance of church attendance, and YES church attendance is a LIFELINE!   As we enter into playoff season for football its easy to see the dedication football fans have for their teams.  So many of these fans will sacrifice time & money, they will fight through extreme weather, and they will be fully engaged from start to finish … for a sport with no eternal value.  Why do we not see this same enthusiasm and commitment from the body of Christ? Let’s begin treating church services  with the same importance that sport fans give their favourite team!

MFS-045: New Year, New Focus

In this episode Matt and Fiona talk about what they do every year to FOCUS on what changes need to happen in life to achieve their goals.   We have all heard about, and done, New Year’s Resolutions. Though it is great to set plans and make lists for what you want to do in the new year, without setting your focus on what actually needs to change, often times new years resolutions don’t actually lead to much changing in your life.  Take time to pray about what needs to change in your life and make sure that you focus on what God has for your life - remember, He always wants more for us than we can imagine!
