MFS-057: Strength & Weakness

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about strengths and weaknesses.  We all have weaknesses, but how we manage them is key.  We have all heard the phrase, “turn your weakness into strengths,” and although that is great in theory, we need to first start by admitting we have a weakness and identifying what they are. It's important that you recognize what your weaknesses are so you can improve in those areas, yet know that the enemy also knows where you are weak and that is the area he will attack you. By knowing your weaknesses and your strengths to can work on strengthening those weak areas through prayer and seeking this Lord! You are strong enough!    ~ M&F

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about Scrabble.  Yes, we do love scrabble in our home but this weeks episode is about more than just a board game.  In the game of scrabble, you take your time carefully planning out your words.  You think about placement, options and how it works for future turns.  We need to do the same thing with the words we speak.  The Bible tell us that “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue,” Prov 18:21, yet we often are unaware of the words that come out of our mouths and how they may be effecting our lives and the lives of our family.  Let’s think about the words we speak as carefully as we plan our words in Scrabble.  Make sure you are speaking life!

MFS-055: Sharing Easter

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about Kids & Easter. In this episode we share about the importance of having conversations with your children about the true significance of what Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection represents. By sharing the Easter story with your children, you can help them understand the depth of Jesus' love for them. Helping them understand His love is the foundation that allows them to build a personal relationship with Jesus. The more time you spend with someone, the better relationship you have with them. The same goes for building a stronger relationship with Jesus. The more time they spend with Him and learning about all He did for us, the stronger relationship they will have with Him. Don’t leave something so important simply up to the children church workers. Talk with them about Easter at home!

He did not go to the cross and get crucified for us to have a 2 hour a week relationship with Him when we show up for church Sunday morning. He died for us so we can have a full time relationship with Him! We need to let God into every moment of our lives … we need to BRING GOD HOME!

MFS-052: Don't Stay Away

This week’s episode stemmed from something our Pastor shared in one of our recent services.  We have seen it time and time again, when offence and hurt occur within the church, it causes people to leave the church and often times completely walk away from God.  People will always let us down, but our Saviour never will!  Don’t allow the downfalls of people to keep you away from what Jesus has for you, He will never let you down! Don’t stay away from church!

MFS-51:Learn! Don't Dwell

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about learning from our mistakes instead of dwelling on them.  It’s inevitable that we will all do or say things that we realize we shouldn’t.  All to often when this occurs we dwell on what we said or did, how we reacted, or how we didn’t react.  By dwelling - we remain in the past!  Whether we dwell for hours, days or weeks, our peace is stolen and it can hold us back from moving forward. MSF-050: Get Off The Bench

Join us as we sit down and talk about “getting off the bench.”  Last week’s Superbowl sparked a conversation about the parallels that exist between sports and the church.  For one, the coach can’t win the game without the players and likewise, the players need the coach to prepare them. Each player works hard to be a part of the team, not so they can sit the bench, but so they can play!  As part of a church family, we need to get in the game!  It’s time for us to do what our Pastor has been training us for and GET OFF THE BENCH!

MFS-048: Invest In Your Kids

Join Matt & Fiona as they sit down and talk about the importance of Investing in Your Kids! Sometimes you teach, sometimes you train, but you’re always investing! This episode stemmed for an extended dinner we had with the kids.  After a long day it’s easy to have a quick dinner and move on, but the other night, we finished dinner, and instead of excusing them from the table once they were done, we spent some time investing in our kids.  We worked with them and taught them skill they can carry with them the rest of their life.  This wasn’t the first time we worked on these skills and this definitely won’t be the last time but we are determined to continually invest in them.
